The first exposed models of the XK 150 were the coupe and the convertible. The roadster, planned as the mainstay of the program, was delayed until March 1958. In 4 years, 2,265 roadsters, 4,462 coupés and 2,671 convertibles were built. The XK 150 is one of the cars in the XK family that has changed the least throughout its four years of existence. The XK 150 will be succeeded by the Type E.
