History of the Type E:

The Jaguar E-Type is the successor car to the XK 150.

During its presentation at the Geneva Motor Show on March 16, 1961, this car created one of the most sensational events in the history of the post-war automobile, on a world scale, causing the effect of a bomb.

It is a shock for the public, the journalists, but also for the other manufacturers. No praiseworthy qualifier is forgotten praising the beauty, the originality, the grace and the modernism of this car

It was at the London Motor Show in October 1964 that the new 4.2-litre group appeared.

It is inside that the novelties will appear, with the disappearance of the bucket seats in favor of ribbed armchairs whose inclination is adjustable. The aluminum of the center console is replaced by leather.

On the outside, nothing distinguishes a 3.8 from a 4.2 liter, except for the 4.2 liter logo on the rear hatch.
