Jaguar XK 120 OTS

The Jaguar XK120, unveiled at the 1948 London Motor Show, marked Jaguar’s post-war revival and quickly established itself as a benchmark among British sports cars. Designed by William Lyons, it captivated enthusiasts with its elegant lines, long bonnet and harmonious proportions, perfectly embodying the aesthetics of the roadsters of its era. The name “XK120” referred to its theoretical top speed of 120 mph, an exceptional figure in the late 1940s. It introduced Jaguar’s legendary 3.4-litre XK inline-six engine, featuring twin overhead camshafts and combining impressive performance with remarkable refinement.
Initially produced with an aluminium body before switching to steel, the XK120 quickly achieved international success. It also made its mark in competition, particularly in the hands of privateer drivers, helping to establish Jaguar’s sporting reputation. Its elegance, performance and distinctive character have made it one of Britain’s greatest automotive icons. Today, the XK120 is highly sought after by collectors around the world. A true symbol of British craftsmanship, the Jaguar XK120 represents the perfect combination of refinement, sporting character and historic heritage.
We are delighted to offer for sale this superb Jaguar XK120 OTS, an example that combines British elegance, sporting character and carefully executed improvements. Restored by Atelier des Coteaux, this XK120 has benefited from comprehensive work to both its bodywork and paintwork, resulting in an exceptionally attractive presentation today. With a focus on enhancing the driving experience, the car has been fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox, a Cooper Kraft carburettor kit and a stainless-steel exhaust system, providing greater flexibility, improved performance and an intoxicating exhaust note. Each modification has been tastefully carried out while remaining faithful to the XK120’s timeless sporting character.
Particular attention was also paid to the interior, which was completely retrimmed by Atelier des Coteaux. It features bespoke bucket seats, refined caramel leather upholstery, a padded leather transmission tunnel and elegant aluminium interior panels.
Numerous details further enhance its unique character, including the lowered windscreen, painted wheels and the harmonious overall specification. Nothing was overlooked in the creation of this example, which was conceived to offer an exclusive yet authentic driving experience. With its distinctive styling, thoughtfully integrated improvements and timeless appeal, this Jaguar XK120 OTS represents a particularly compelling interpretation of one of the greatest British roadsters of the post-war era.
